Wanaka Airport is situated 10km from Lake Wanaka township on State Highway 6 at Luggate. Wanaka is centrally situated and is easy to reach by road. Other options include coach, air charter or private aircraft.

By Road

By Ferry from the North Island

Travel Cook Strait by ferry with Interislander.

By Air

International airports are situated at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown. Scheduled flights into Queenstown can be arranged through Air New Zealand and Qantas, and into Wanaka with Air New Zealand from cities around New Zealand. From Queenstown to Wanaka your travel can be by car, coach or charter aircraft. Charter flights will operate from several locations around New Zealand.

Private aircraft may fly directly into Wanaka Airport. Refer to a special NOTAM issued for this airshow.

Fly DC-3 New Zealand (formerly known as the Warbird Dakota/Fly Dakota) offers a unique opportunity for anyone wanting to attend the Warbirds Over Wanaka International Airshow 2012 in classic comfort and style.

The DC3 will also fly from Queenstown to Wanaka and return each airshow day.
