Warbirds voted NZ's Most Favourite Event for a third time
New Zealand’s premier airshow took out the People’s Choice Award for New Zealand’s Most Favourite Event at this week’s New Zealand Event Association Gala Awards Dinner in Auckland.
Warbirds Over Wanaka Event Manager Andrena Davis was there to receive the award, along with board member Marion Franks and Health and Safety manager John Frampton.
The People’s Choice Award for NZ’s Most Favourite Event was also won by Warbirds Over Wanaka in 2024 and 2018 having lost the opportunity to participate in 2020 and 2022 due to Covid cancellations. To win the award for the third time is fantastic and a tribute to our Fans and supporters throughout New Zealand and around the world Andrena said, this award is really for all the hundreds of people that make the airshow happen, the display pilots and their crews, the wonderful volunteers, community groups, trade participants, sponsors and our small management team.
The next Warbirds Over Wanaka Airshow will be our 40th Anniversary and we are already in the planning stages to bring back the “Best of the Best for 2028. Tickets go on sale July 2027 for the Easter 2028 Airshow.
