Student Education Experience

Friday 3rd April 2026

Warbirds Over Wanaka International Airshow is delighted to have school students come and experience many aspects of the Aviation Industry. All students aged 0-17 are FREE to attend on Friday 3rd April, 2026.

One of Warbird's fundamental objectives is the education of young New Zealanders about our country’s aviation history. We aim to inspire young people to take an active interest in all facets of aviation at the Airshow.

WE ENCOURAGE OUR SCHOOL STUDENTS TO VISIT:

  • The RNZAF and other visiting Air Forces, who will provide an opportunity to learn about modern aircraft used in the Air Forces today. Students will also meet some of the men and women who work in the Air Force and have a look at future careers for themselves.

  • The Future of Aviation Exhibit

  • Sport Aircraft Display of microlights, homebuilts, replicas, sport aircraft projects and much more.

  • Visit the Aviation Federation Marquee and learn about becoming a pilot or having a career in Aviation

  • Visit the Air Training Corps 50th Squadron Cadets to learn about becoming an Air Cadet.

  • All students up to the age of 17 can enter the Airshow at no charge, all adults must hold a Friday Day pass

  • Students are not required to register for free entry.

  • Our Air Cadets are here to assist students and we encouraged all students to meet the Air Cadets who can head you in the right directions.
